Christine Beason
Current KKΨ National President

Christine F. Beason was appointed Director of Instrumental Studies at Texas Wesleyan University in 2010.  
Mrs. Beason received a Bachelor of Music Education (BME) from Georgia State University in 1996, and a Master of Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign 2003. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in education at the University of Illinois. Mrs. Beason is also an honorary member of the National Chapters of KKΨ and TBΣ, and holds memberships in the Collegiate Band Director's National Association, Music Educator's National Conference, Illinois Music Educator's Association, Women Band Directors International, and College Music Society.

Marie Burleigh

Marie Burleigh has worked in the West Virginia Higher Education System for almost 30 years, primarily in areas that have to do with institutional advancement and image. Her career in higher education has included seven years with WVU Radio & Television, four years as production designer/manager with the Educational Network at West Virginia State College (now University) in Institute, W.Va., and 18 years with the WVU Extension Service where she’s currently a writer/editor for the Communications unit. 

Marie joined the Omicron chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi at WVU in the fall of 1978. She chaired the host committee for the 1980 District IX convention before becoming a life member in the fall of 1980. As an alumnus, she was a founding brother of the District IX Alumni Association of Kappa Kappa Psi- the forerunner of the Northeast District Alumni Association. She served as secretary/treasurer and several terms as president of the NEDAA, and has continued to be involved on the district and national levels of the Fraternity as requested. She was first appointed NED Governor by Dr. Kirk Randazzo in 2001.

Dr. Travis Cross
Current KKΨ National Vice President for Professional Relations

Travis J. Cross begins an appointment as associate professor of music at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he conducts the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band and directs the graduate program in wind conducting.

Cross earned doctor and master of music degrees in conducting from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and the bachelor of music degree cum laude in vocal and instrumental music education from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. Prior to graduate study, he taught for four years at Edina (Minn.) High School, where he conducted two concert bands and oversaw the marching band program. Cross currently serves as national vice president for professional relations for Kappa Kappa Psi, the national honorary band fraternity.

Amy Dauphinais
CurrentTBΣ National Vice President for Communication and Recognition

Amy Bovin Dauphinais  is a life member of the Gamma Kappa chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. As an alumni and life member, Amy has twice held the position of NEDAA Vice President for TBS and also was the colony advisor for Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. Amy recently completed the degree of Masters of Music in Instrumental Conducting at the University of Connecticut in May 2013 where she studied with Dr. Jeffrey Renshaw and Dr. David Mills. During her time as a Masters student, she was a graduate assistant with the UConn Athletic Bands.

In addition to her Masters Degree, Amy earned her B.A. in Music (flute) and her B.S. in Education (music) from the University of Connecticut in 2009. Currently, Amy is the Director of Instrumental Music at Bristol Eastern High School in Bristol, CT where she teaches concert band, marching band, jazz band, piano, music theory and music history.

Yvonne Daye
Current KKΨ Chapter Field Representative

Yvonne Daye was initiated to the Kappa Psi Chapter of KKΨ in 2008.  Currently she is serving the fraternity as a National Chapter Field Representative and has acted as a consultant for over 210 active chapters and colonies taking a focus on chapter operations, development of leadership and education. While pursuing her degree in Bassoon Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), she performed with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at the Virginia Music Educators Association Conference, Carnegie Hall, and the American Bandmasters Association annual conference as well performing in the VCU Symphony Orchestra and numerous chamber ensembles.  When Yvonne was active in her chapter she served two terms as chapter president and as a Northeast District Member at Large.

Mark Daniels

Mark Daniels is a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches Louisiana with a Bachelors of Science in Hospitality Management and Tourism with a concentration in Culinary Arts. He also received a Minor in Political Science and Business and is currently pursuing a Masters in Education. Daniels served as Southwest District President (2009-2010) and Vice President (2010-2011), Chapter President and Vice President, and Student Body President and Vice President. Mark is a Life Member of Kappa Kappa Psi and is currently the Executive Chef at 200 North Beach Restaurant in Bay St. Louis, MS.

Dr. Rick Espinosa

Rick Espinosa continues to serve as Assistant Director of Bands and Associate Director of Athletic Bands within the Baylor School of Music. Additionally, Dr. Espinosa holds a Master of Music degree in wind conducting from UCLA and a Bachelor of Music degree in composition from California State University, Los Angeles. Dr. Espinosa has served in trumpet instruction and band leadership roles for the UCLA Marching Band, the Pasadena City College Lancer Marching Band, and the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as marching instructor for various California high school bands. As a composer and arranger, Dr. Espinosa has varied works scored for brass quintet, mixed choir, solo tuba, wind ensemble, electronics, saxophone duet, and oboe, horn, choir, and strings.

Dawn Farmer
Immediate Past TBΣ National President

Dawn Farmer was initiated into Tau Beta Sigma in the Fall of 1997. As a member of the Omega Chapter, she served as President, Membership Educator, and Parliamentarian. She was also active at the district level, serving as President and Vice President of Colonization and Membership of the Western District. A clarinet and French horn player, Dawn graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Music Education in May of 2002 from the University of Arizona.
While living in California, Dawn was a member of the NAA, held multiple offices on the alumni level, and became a Life Member of Tau Beta Sigma. In 2008, Dawn earned a Master of Arts degree in Music Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her thesis research analyzed the contributions of women to scholarly music education journals. Dawn is currently on the music education faculty at the University of Oklahoma, teaching undergraduate and graduate coursework. She has previously served as the Director of Music Education at Boise State University. Concurrently, she is finishing her Ph.D. in music education at Arizona State University. Her research interests include women in the band profession, urban education, and music teacher preparation. Dawn is also a member of the community-based ensembles and is a member of many professional affiliations such as NAfME, IMEA, and WBDI.

Danny George
Current KKΨ Board of Trustees Member

Daniel George has been a member of KKΨ since November 1988, where he was initiated into the Delta Sigma chapter at the University of Texas at Arlington. He served in various chapter positions including President and Treasurer. He also served as District Secretary-Treasurer, President, and Alumni Chair. Danny graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics in 1991 and a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree in Accounting in 1997. In 1996 he became a life member of the fraternity. Danny also served as one of the Southwest District Governors from 2001 to 2011. In 2011 he was recognized with the KKΨ A. Frank Martin Award. Danny lives in Dallas, Texas where he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is the Accounting Manager for the West Division of Fresenius Medical Care, a company which provides dialysis services and products to patients around the globe.

Kathy Godwin
Past TBΣ National President

Kathy Godwin graduated from the University of Arizona in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics. She began her career in Tau Beta Sigma in 1989 at the Omega chapter and as an undergraduate served as Parliamentarian, Vice President, and President. She also served as district Vice President before the office was split, and then became the Vice President of Colonization and Membership. In 2004, she became a program coordinator at the University of Arizona. While working here, she served as Tau Beta Sigma National President from 2005-2007. In 2007, she went back to University of Arizona to earn her Masters of Arts in Higher Education. Upon graduation, she worked as a Business Analyst on Degree Tracker Project and became the Senior Business Analyst a year later. At the same time she started serving as Tau Beta Sigma’s Risk Management Liaison. Today, she is the Assistant Director of Curricular Affairs at the University of Arizona and is working toward her doctorate in Higher Education.

Chris Gordon
Chris Mullen Gordon became a member of the Psi chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at the University of Arkansas in the fall of 1993. While active, she held the offices of Recording Secretary and President, as well as Vice President for the Southwest District. Chris served as piccolo drill captain and section leader for the Razorback Marching Band and played in the University Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. She was also a member of the music department’s flute studio. Chris holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arkansas, and a Master’s in Child and Family Studies from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.

She currently serves as the Director Children’s Ministries at a church in Southwest Austin, TX, and moonlights as a freelance technical writer and social media coordinator for some amazingly awesome local consulting firms. Chris served Tau Beta Sigma from 2002-2009 as the counselor for the Southwest District. She holds Honorary Memberships to the Southwest District chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, and the National Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. In 2009, nearing the end of her term as Counselor, she was elected to the Tau Beta Sigma Board of Trustees and served as the Past National Presidents’ Coordinator, Development Program Co-Chair, and Vice Trustee until 2013.

Brynn Jones

Brynn Jones is a Speech Language Pathologist with HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress, TX. She holds multiple degrees from the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville including a Bachelor of Arts in Music, a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders, and a Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology. During her time at the University of Arkansas she was a member of the Psi Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, and was president of Southwest District of Tau Beta Sigma from 2009-2011. She is an honorary member of the Southeast District of Tau Beta Sigma and of the Southwest District of Kappa Kappa Psi

Kathryn Kelly
Current TBΣ National Vice President for Colonization and Membership

Kathryn Garrett Kelly moved to Washington D.C. in 1997 from Tampa, Florida to pursue a double major in Biology and Anthropology at Howard University and participated in the honors program, the “Showtime” Marching Band where she played Clarinet and Baritone Horn, and the Concert Band performing on Bassoon.  While an undergraduate, she became a member of Tau Beta Sigma in the Spring of 1998 and served as the Chapter President, Parliamentarian, and Vice President for Membership. She was also elected as the Northeast District Treasurer in 1999 and the Northeast District President the following year. She graduated Howard University in 2001, cum laude. Upon graduation, she became a high school science teacher at James Monroe High School and helped with many extracurricular activities including Yearbook Coordinator and Hip Hop Business Coordinator while pursuing her Masters in Education. She returned to Howard University to earn her doctorate of medicine in 2003, graduating in 2007, and completed her Residency and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at Washington Hospital Center.

Dr. Kelly is served as the Northeast District Counselor for Tau Beta Sigma from 2006-2009. Upon 2009, Dr. Kelly began serving as Tau Beta Sigma’s National Vice President of Special Projects from 2009-2011. Dr. Kelly currently works as an Internal Medicine Physician in Private Practice in Silver Spring, MD and is also Tau Beta Sigma’s National Vice President of Colonization and Membership.

Jack Lee
Current KKΨ National Vice President for Colonization and Membership

Jack Lee was in itiated into the Delta Sigma chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi on March 13, 2005 at the University of Texas at Arlington. Jack graduated with his Bachelor of Music degree in December 2005 and began graduate work the following semester. While a graduate studemt, Jack served as a Teaching Assistane and Instructor at the University of Texas at Arlington. There, he conducted the University Band, the MavBrass athletic band, and was an assistant with the marching band - all of these were ensembles he participated in as an undergraduate. During his time as an active member of Delta Sigma, Jack served as the chapter president and Southwest District president. He was made an Honorary Member of Tau Beta Sigma by the Southwest District in 2008.

After completing his Master of Music in Music Education degree in May 2008, Jack continued to serve Kappa Kappa Psi as a sponsor for the Delta Sigma chapter. Jack is a recipient of the J. Lee Burke Student Achievement Award and Tau Beta Sigma's Daniel A. George Award for Fostering Joint Relations. Jack is currently an Assistant Principal at Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, TX.

Jack is a Life Member of Kappa Kappa Psi, and holds memberships in the Kappa Kappa Psi Alumni Association, the Southwest District Alumni Association, the Eta Alpha Alumni Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and the National Association for Music Education.

Wendy McCann

Wendy Daigler McCann became a member of the Tau chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at the University of Houston (UH) in the spring of 1989.  While active, she held the offices of Vice President and President. Wendy served as piccolo section leader for the University of Houston Cougar Marching Band, and played flute in the Symphonic and Concert Bands. Wendy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UH, and a Master’s in Counseling from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Upon graduation, Wendy served in several alumni leadership roles, including SWD Alumni Coordinator, SWD Alumni Association President, and TBS SWD National Alumni Association Director.

In 2002, Wendy and her husband, John McCann (Beta Sigma, Kappa Kappa Psi Life Member), escaped the Texas heat for the mountains of Colorado. Wendy is an undergraduate Academic Advisor in the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder. Wendy served Tau Beta Sigma from 2003-2010 as the Midwest District Counselor. She holds Honorary Memberships to the Beta Sigma and Midwest District chapters of Kappa Kappa Psi, and the Midwest District and National Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma.

Craig McClure

Craig McClure grew up in Mount Ayr, Iowa, and attended the University of Northern Iowa where he completed majors in chemistry and biotechnology.  At UNI, he played tenor saxophone in the Panther Marching Band for four years, and served as marching band announcer for one year.  He was an active member of the Eta Pi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, and served as Midwest District Secretary/Treasurer and Midwest District President.  He attended graduate school in chemistry at the University of Michigan where he continued to be involved in Kappa Kappa Psi alumni organizations, and became an Honorary Member of the Nu Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.  He is currently an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and serves on the Kappa Kappa Psi Alumni Association Board of Directors.  He resides in Hoover, Alabama with his wife Leslie and children Lillian and Preston.


Aaron Moore

National Alumni Historical and Developmental Coordinator


Aaron Moore, National Alumni Historical and Development Coordinator, is a 1998/2004 graduate of Northeastern State University, where he earned Bachelor’s Degrees in History Education and Telecommunications Management. During his time at NSU, Aaron was a member of the NSU Jazz Ensembles. He was initiated into the Alpha Rho chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi in the spring of 1999. As HQAHDC , Aaron helps prepare all paperwork regarding chapters and colonies for the National Executive Director. The HQAHDC is responsible for all data entry of Alumni records, maintains circulation databases, and oversees the historical documents held in National HQ and works on their preservation. Other responsibilities include coordinating mail-outs, ordering of awards, and handling all general Headquarters e-mail. In addition to being a Life Member of the Alpha Rho Chapter, Aaron is also an honorary member of the Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, the Southwest Districts of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma and the National chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. Aaron completed a Masters Degree in Public/Applied History with an emphasis in Museum Studies at Oklahoma State University in 2010.

Erika Pope
Current TBΣ Southwest District Counselor

Erika Pope was initiated into the Theta Theta Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma from Henderson State University on October 25, 1999. As an active member of the organization, she served in various leadership roles including chapter vice president and chapter president as well as Vice President of Colonization and Membership for the Southwest District. She was on “The Showband of Arkansas” drum line where she was on the cymbal line, the bass line and the snare line in which she is proud to say she is one of only a few female snare players in the history of The Showband.

A 2005 graduate of Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR, she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Media with a focus in radio/television broadcasting and a minor in music. 

Erika became a Life Member of the Sisterhood in 2007, an Honorary Member of the Theta Phi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi from Henderson State University in 2008, and currently holds honorary memberships in various chapters of Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi. She has continued to serve Tau Beta Sigma in various capacities such as workshop presenting, advising committees, and serving as a colony advisor/installing officer. In her spare time she likes watching movies, reading novels and rocking out on the drums with her rock band. She currently resides in Little Rock, AR.

Dr. Nicole Sanchez
Current TBΣ National President

Dr. Nicole Sanchez was initiated into the Delta Eta Chapter at Texas A&M University-Kingsville in the fall of 2001. On the chapter level Nicole served in many offices including Vice President, and President. Nicole also served as Vice President of Colonization & Membership and served as President of the Southwest District during the Sorority’s 60th year. At Texas A&M University-Kingsville Nicole played the french horn in the Pride of South Texas Javelina Marching band and in one of the school’s concert bands.

Nicole is a Life member of Tau Beta Sigma and an Honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi, Southwest District. Nicole had the privilege of being a charter member of the Tau Beta Sigma Alumni Association and has also helped develop the Southwest District affiliate.

Nicole has Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Animal Science from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX in 2010. Nicole currently works as a Research Animal Scientist in Lubbock, TX.

Dr. David Scott

David Scott is Head of the Department of Music and Professor of Music at Texas A&M University-Commerce. His on-campus duties include teaching courses in Music Education and providing administrative leadership for a growing and vibrant academic unit.

Prior to his appointment at TAMUC, Dr. Scott was Head of the Department of Art and Music and Professor of Music at Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX. Joining the Angelo State faculty as Director of Bands in 1998, he led members of the ASU Band program in over 350 performances and premiered several new works for winds.

Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, he received Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Euphonium Performance from Baylor University, and the Master’s degree in Instrumental Conducting and the Ph. D in Music Education from The Ohio State University. Dr. Scott was named an Outstanding Young Man in America in 1988 and has been listed in Who’s Who in the Midwest and Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. He is supported in his efforts by his wife, Debra, and their daughter, Lori.

Kris Wright

A member of Tau Beta Sigma since 1992, Kris has been active in Sorority leadership at the local, district and national levels. Her experience includes nine years as Counselor for the Western District, coordinator of the National Memorial Ceremony of TBS, and presenter of workshops on various topics to district and local chapter members. She was initiated into the Omega Chapter at the University of Arizona. Kris brings a talent for data organization and idea development to the Board of Trustees. Her background in marketing design and advertising as well as creating operational procedures for groups are strong additions to the skill set of the Board team. She looks forward to helping shape the direction of the BOT and interacting with students and alumni in this role.
